Bone was the first officially appointed British war artist and was
attached to the Intelligence Unit and given the army rank and the
uniform of a second lieutenant but was unarmed. His pass enabled him to
sketch anywhere within the zone of the British Armies in France.

The Hun Hunters has more than a whiff of propaganda about it was first published in August 1916 and reprinted twice the same year, this copy emerged recently.
